Leading through Conflict

Leading through Conflict:  Connecting, Collaborating and Innovating Workshop

Just imagine….

You are leaving a meeting that was intense. There were many opinions being voiced, differing agendas, and nothing was able to move forward. You think to yourself, “This is an important decision time, with greater business impact than ever and we can’t get anywhere! Those young people don’t seem to care! My colleagues are only thinking about their own projects. People are frustrated and impatient and it’s just conflict after conflict!”  How would you feel?

Aggravated?
Helpless?
Discouraged?

Now, imagine instead…
You are leaving a meeting that was intense. Everyone felt acknowledged and conflicts became a way to find new creative ideas in the group. You think to yourself, “This is an important time and we have hope that we’ll come up with a solution. People actually seem eager to learn how they can contribute and talk about their real interests. My work colleagues are all on the same page, no matter what department they are in, and we all seem to be able to make it happen!”  How would you feel after this?

What a difference from the first scenario…....and it’s possible!

With easy to follow lessons, self-surveys, guided group and individual practice, course materials and more, you’ll come out of this workshop armed with everything you need to better understand generational differences and how to facilitate workplace conflict. You will learn strategies for solving conflict before it escalates into something bigger.  Your confidence in being able to truly empathize with those different from you will grow.  You’ll graduate to better understanding of conflict and how to negotiate through it.

Our workshop leaders, Marilyn and Carolann, want to inspire you to a new way to define conflict, to explore and appreciate the value that comes from conflict, and to see the potential that constructive dialogues can offer you in the workplace, in the community and to your family.

In this primer, they present a roadmap with actionable steps to guide you through conflicts as quality professionals. Consistent use of this roadmap will help you as a quality professional by increasing your engagement and connection with those around you and with your work. Practicing the skills may be awkward at first. Mastery of this topic may take years. But with a little practice and the use of the roadmap’s guiding principles to lead through a conflict can quickly make a difference to your professional and personal life.
